Jacques Naude - Overberg on NOWNESS

Very rarely am I completely mesmerized by visuals, except when it comes to cinematographers. I am undeniably biased there. Whilst names like Roger Deacon, Bradford Young, John Seale and Emmanuel Lubezki are not well known, these individuals are responsible for such powerful film imagery from Skyfall to Shawshank Redemption to Mad Max to The Arrival.

Enter Cape Town's own Jacques Naude whose short film Overberg reminds me so much of films like Tree of Life (coincidentally also shot by Emmanuel Lubezki). This really is a special little film.
