Turmeric Vitamin C Bomb Smoothie

Wow! It's been a long, loooong week and by mid-Wednesday I was over it and ready to crawl under the covers with a Gin and Tonic! Weirdly enough I also found myself craving pineapples and mangoes.

Cravings are usually your body's way of telling you it needs something to heal you or counter some dysfunction. Fruit cravings, in particular, mango and pineapple, are a sign your hormones are out of whack, you're exhausted or you're dehydrated. In my case it was all three!

So a craving for potassium, anti-oxidant and Vitamin C rich mango and pineapple made perfect sense. I decided to add Turmeric on a whim, which turned out to be a great idea! Turmeric is the latest 'it' ingredient and a supposed anti-inflammatory / 'pick me up' ingredient.

What better ingredient to add to the ultimate mood-boosting smoothie to help you feel great and gorgeous again?

(I added the 'bomb' for effect and also because the turmeric does back a welcome and unexpected kick! and wow, 😳 that bright yellow is something!)

What you'll need:

1 cup of coconut water.

1 large fibre-less Heidi mango, any large mango in season works as well.

A handful of ice.

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

1 teaspoon of lime juice.

Half a small pineapple cut into small cubes.

A tablespoon of Manuka honey

Half a teaspoon of turmeric.

This is really is SO simple to make:

Add the coconut water, ice and mango in the blender. Blend.

Add the lemon and lime. Blend.

If at this point the smoothie isn't liquid in state add a little more ice.

Add the pineapple pieces. Make sure they're chopped well and blended well!

Add the Manuka honey and turmeric.

Serve chilled!

Hey Kudisco!
